Clever Duck Media launch International Women in Gaming Awards on 8 of March.

Cannock / United Kingdom / 2010-03-09 (GlobalGamingPR) - It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.

The inaugural International Woman in Gaming Awards have been created to highlight the exceptional women working in Land based and iGaming industry, role models that show it is an industry that offers exciting career opportunities for women on both a national and global basis.

The closing date for nomination is 8 June 2010. The winners will be announced in September 2010 at a presentation ceremony in London.

Women in Gaming Awards is a great opportunity for employers to recognize female team leaders within organization and their contribution to the success of business.

Applicants can submit, and thus showcase their achievements, in eight fields:

Hidden Talent of the Year Award

This award will go to the woman whose contribution to the success of the organisation may not be obviously visible, but nonetheless invaluable and greatly appreciated.
The person could be someone who supports a successful team/individual in the organisation. It could be someone who holds a position unique to your business.

Star of the Future Award
This award will go to the woman , whose energy, ambition and generosity of spirit represents the positive future of the gambling industry.

Leader of the Year Award
This category is open to all female team, department and business leaders working in land based/igaming industry ,nominees could be team leaders, managers, directors, ceo,cfo within the Land based and I gaming business.

Team of the Year Award
This will be awarded to the team, led by a woman that contributited to the company's success.

Inspiration of the Year Award
This award will go to the woman whose efforts are bringing about positive cultural change for women within her organisation. This could be someone who is influencing or implementing programmes to support the development of women in the business.

Affiliate Manager Manager of the Year Award
This award will go to the woman whose leadership skills and commercial flair set her apart from her peers.

Innovator of the Year Award
This award will go to the woman, at any level in the organisation, who has made an innovative contribution that has transformed the business. This could be innovative Marketing/HR/Sales campaigne or operational decision.

The Industry Pride of the Year Award
This award will be selected by the judges from the finalists of our seven categories listed above and will go to one exceptional woman whose vision, innovative approach and success make her an outstanding role model that will inspire more women to choose a career in Land based Gaming or I gaming industry.


The Judges

Ellen Learmonth
Ellen Learmonth has been active in online media for over 10 years, covering all disciplines of online marketing with strong expertise in acquisition and affiliate marketing. Her passion for innovation leads her to be on the forefront of any new developments in the online marketing arena creating and executing campaigns that stand out. Her 2006 World Cup Campaign earned two prestigious creative design awards at the New York Festival (Bronze) and The
International Davey Award (Gold). In the past 5 years Ellen has become an accomplished marketer within the Gaming industry, leaving her mark with some
of the major gaming operators.


Kathi Meci
Kathi is the General Manager of Casino Operations Planning for Aruze Corp.’s resort casino being developed at Manila Bay in the Philippines. Kathi has experience planning and opening five major resort casinos, including Wynn Macau, where she also led the pre- and post-opening gaming efforts as the Vice President of Casino Operations. During her 30+ years in the gaming industry, Kathi has held executive positions in various markets including the USA, both traditional and Native American, Macau and i-gaming. In addition, Kathi led her own gaming consulting company where her client list included companies in the United States, Macau and Europe.


Maria Losch Rohloff
Maria Losch Rohloff is owner of Losch PR, specializing in the consumer market of hospitality, travel/tourism, wellness, beauty, fitness, fashion and charities. She is also a business partner of Grant Rohloff Inc. an iconic surf culture and beach lifestyle brand.
Maria is Board Vice President of Friendly House and Event Chair for Fashion For Life. She supports animal rescues & charities and a volunteer of Reading To Kids. She is also one of the founding Board of Directors of LA Fashion Collective.

Sue Schneider
Sue Schneider is one of the world’s leading experts on the internet gaming industry which she began monitoring in 1995. Starting as an owner of leading gaming consumer portal from ’95-‘99, she then launched River City Group, which produced the largest i-gaming events in the world as well as key industry trade publications, such as iGamingNews.com and the Internet Gambling Report. In July, ’06, River City Group was purchased by Clarion Events, one of the UK’s largest event producers and Schneider remained as CEO/Americas there until July ’08. She remains the principal of www.egamingbrokerage.com and consults on a variety of other independent projects in the industry. Schneider was a founder and served as Chairman of the Interactive Gaming Council (IGC), a trade association, from its inception in l996 until 2004. She is a frequent speaker at international gaming conferences and has testified to both the US Senate, the US House of Representatives as well as the National Gambling Impact Study Commission in that country.


Sylvie Leroy
Sylvie Leroy holds a diploma in communication from the University of Paris VII. She began her career in various companies - telephony, insurance, communication and achieved to be the communication and marketing director of a website providing daily financial news featuring among the top 30 most-trafficked websites in France. In 1999, her growing interest for the casinos sector encouraged her to create her first web site for gamblers focused on the French casino market. The web site meanwhile became more and more professional and it is rapidly known as the Journal des Casinos (www.journaldescasinos.com), an online daily review dedicated to those involved in the sector.

Tina Palastanga
Tina Palastanga joined Global Leisure Partners in May 2004 having previously spent five years at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in both the European Transaction Group and the Food, Consumer and Retail Group. Tina has since been involved in a number of major transactions while at GLP, including the sale of 50% of Atronic to GTECH Holdings, Permira’s acquisition of 30% in Gala Group at a £1.9 billion enterprise value, Gala Group’s £2.1 billion acquisition of Coral Eurobet, Hg Capital’s £76 million buyout of Sporting Index, the £31 million sale of the Clermont Club from Rank Group plc, Permira and Apax’s €1.14 billion acquisition of Italian gaming group Sisal SpA and the $31.2 billion leveraged buyout of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. by Apollo and TPG.

Tina Palastanga was educated at Birmingham University and completed an Executive Management Training programme at INSEAD. She is fluent in German and Italian.
